Skin cancer is the most common human cancer. It is estimated that over 1 million new cases occur annually. Annual incidence of all forms of skin cancer is increasing every year, which means an increasing concern. It is also estimated that nearly half of all Americans who live to 65 years will develop skin cancer at least once.
Cancer of the skin tissue forms. There are several types of skin cancer. Skin cancer formed in melanocytes (skin cells that make pigment) is called melanoma. Formed a basal cell skin cancer (small, round cells in the northern outer layer of skin) is called basal cell carcinoma. Skin cancer formed by neuroendocrine cells (cells that release hormones in response to signals from the nervous system) is called neuroendocrine carcinoma of the skin. Basal cells are round in shape and can be found at the bottom of the outer layer of skin known as epidermis. One of three new cancers are skin cancers and the vast majority are basal cell carcinoma, often referred to by the abbreviation, BCC.Until recently, they were mostly affected older people, especially men, who were working outside. Although the number of new cases has increased sharply each year, the average age of onset of the disease in recent decades have continued to declinecancer, squamous cells begin to -. Thin, flat cells that look like fish scales under a microscope. Squamous cells are found in tissues that form the surface of the skin, the lining of hollow organs in the body and the passages of the respiratory and digestive tract. Squamous cell cancer can occur in any of these tissues.
numbers of skin cancer varies from country to country. In tropical countries, large white population, the numbers are proportional to the amount of sunlight. Most skin cancers can be treated with removal of lesion, make sure the edges (margins) are free of cancer cells. Excisions provide the best treatment for both early and high-risk disease. Squamous cell carcinoma of the skin cancer is related to sunlight. It starts as a small firm, painless swelling occurs most often lip, ear or back of the hand. It expands quite quickly and it will often break form the center of the crater. Like many other forms of cancer, skin cancer, precancerous lesions start. These changing skin lesions that are not cancer, but can become cancerous over time. Medical professionals often refer to these changes dysplasia.TreatmentSurgery: Surgery of skin cancer of the skin area that is affected. Surgery may be the most effective when the affected area is cut in the skin at an early stage cancer.Cryosurgery skin: This type of treatment at very low temperatures, cool the affected area. Affects the tissues / cells are killed and frozen with liquid nitrogen. Depending on the complexity and the affected area, this treatment is repeated several times. Laser Therapy: a narrow beam of high intensity laser is used to destroy cells in the affected area. This therapy is used in most cases, if the cancer has reached deeper into the skin.
